We can also find thatthere emerged an upward trend inthe proportion of people choosing not to live with their family members.In the year 1970, around 4% of the surveyed people either opted to live alone or share a room with others.After 33 years, the figure for people living by themselvesjumped to13%, and thefigure forpeople who lived with non-relativesalmost tripled.
